Start Writing, Then Find Your Voice Along The Way

Don’t get stuck trying to figure out your voice when you first start writing.

It’s hard enough to even start writing.

We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to be perfect and make sure everything is awesome because we want other people to like it. We don’t want to fail and be an embarrassment to ourselves and those around us.

You can quickly start overthinking your writing and cause all sorts of writer’s block. Trying to figure out your voice as a writer can easily cause your writing to stall out.

So don’t worry about it. Just start writing.

Figuring out your voice as a writer and actually writing with that voice is very chicken and egg—it’s hard to say which one comes first, but both are important to the process.

So try not to get too caught up in figuring out your voice.

Start writing and it will naturally come out in your writing.
